The MEC for CoGTA Zolile Williams congratulates Nkosi Langa Zwelidumile Mavuso on being voted in unopposed as the Deputy Chairperson of the House of Traditional and Khoisan Leaders (NHTKL).

Nkosi Mavuso who also served as the Deputy Provincial Chairperson of Contralesa in the Eastern Cape during the past term was elected on 31 October in Johannesburg in the presence of the Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma and the President of Contralesa Nyalane Pilane.

Nkosi Mavuso is the Head of Amabhele Aselenge traditional Council in eDikeni and is the third Eastern Cape leader to assume the strategic position in the National House, with the late Nkosi Justice Mabandla followed by Nkosikazi Nosandi Nomandla Mhlauli.

Nkosi Mavuso is a seasoned leader who was elected to the EC House of Traditional Leaders in 1997 at the age of 24 years. He has been within the traditional leadership institution for 25 years.

MEC congratulates Nkosi Mavuso and wishes him a successful term of office and knows that he will be equal to the task and address the issues affecting traditional and rural communities in the province.
