The MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA), Zolile Williams is saddened by the news of the demise of Cllr. Mambiza Mfamela of Ward 20 of Mhlontlo Municipality who was a representative at the O.R. Tambo District Municipality.
The MEC expresses his words of sympathy to the Mfamela family, the people of Mhlontlo Municipality as well as the people of O.R. Tambo District Municipality. Cllr. Mfamela is described as a person who was down to earth and who stood by the side of the people.
Cllr. Mfamela was an embodiment of humility. He was meek as a sheep a trait and a disposition that made the people of Mhlontlo Municipality to elect him as their councillor during the 1 November 2021 local government elections. He was the ambassador of the people of Mhlontlo Municipality in every respect. He placed service delivery at the apex of everything he did.
Cllr. Mfamela will be sorely missed by his community for his contribution in the upliftment of their lives. The MEC would like to accompany Cllr. Mfamela with the words of Prophet Isaiah 57 verse 15,
“For thus saith the high and the lofty One that inhabited eternity whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit to revive the heart of the contrite one”.
May the soul of Cllr. Mfamela rest in peace.
