On 10 March 2021, CoGTA MEC Xolile Nqatha will travel to Jongilanga High School in Kwelerha, Buffalo City Municipality to hand over twenty-two (22) boxes of Sanitary Dignity Towels to benefit young girls in rural communities. MEC Nqatha together with the Acting Chairperson of the EC House of Traditional Leaders (ECHTL) Nkosi Langa Mavuso will do the delivery on this day.

The gesture of good will, said Nkosi Mavuso, is born out of a donation of five hundred and fifty-six (556) boxes of Sanitary Dignity Towels made last year by the United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA) to the ECHTL. The partnership was initiated by the House, said Nkosi Mavuso.

The distribution is done in collaboration with the Provincial Department of Education focusing on eleven (11) Districts and Buffalo City Metro with the exclusion of Nelson Mandela Bay Metro, said MEC Nqatha.

“A total of twenty-two (22) schools in the Province will receive twenty-two (22) boxes each to realise the target of one hundred and ninety-eight (198) girls per rural school,” said MEC Nqatha.
