COGTA MEC Xolile Nqatha will tomorrow, 18 September 2019, visit Great Kei and Amahlathi Local Municipalities to present reports of the forensic investigations conducted into allegations of fraud, corruption and maladministration in the two municipalities.
“The appointed firm have completed its task and I will present the reports to the two Municipal Councils for execution. I will also have a session with key stakeholders to present the findings of the reports,” said MEC Nqatha.
Last year, former Cogta MEC Fikile Xasa handed over a preliminary investigation report to the Council of Amahlathi Local Municipality. The report was conducted by CoGTA officials from Bhisho in terms of the Local Government Systems Act 32, of 2000, Section 105 (1).

The engagement with the Great Kei Community will be held at the local Community Hall after the Council meeting.
The MEC will then proceed to the Amahlathi Municipal Chambers to present the forensic report and thereafter engage with the Amahlathi stakeholders at the local Community Hall.
