MEC NQATHA HOSTS STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT SESSION

Cogta MEC Xolile Nqatha will be hosting a stakeholder engagement session next week to share service delivery updates of the department in the financial year that comes to an end on 31 March 2020.  

The MEC said this will be an “interactive session” with guests at liberty to make honest and constructive observations on the performance of the department.

“The session is meant to be conversational in nature with to empower one another on the work of government in general and CoGTA in particular. We exist in a societal context hence our fate is intertwined,” said MEC Nqatha.

MEC Nqatha said the session is in line with Pillar 1 of the Back to Basics programme, which encourages government to Put People and their Concerns First.

“Through this session we seek to provide effective, transparent, accountable and coherent government to our stakeholders. This we do so as to co-operate with one another in mutual trust and good faith by fostering friendly relations, assisting and supporting one another, informing and consulting one another on matters of common interest,” said MEC Nqatha.

 

The MEC said the session will be guided by “integrated thinking and decision making” to grow the Eastern Cape Province through the creation of better comunities.

 

The invited key stakeholders include Kings, Queens, Executive Mayors, Municipal Managers, members of the Provincial Legislature, representatives from the South African Local Government Association (Salga), representatives of Chapter 9 Institutions and business formations.
